Superior Tools LCI-Professional uses robust algorithms to detect functional display failures even in the presence of the protective lens tape normally fitted to displays. The system copes with changes in display orientation or placement, and yet can be configured to fail products with displays that are skewed within the product assembly. The system is trained by capturing images of test patterns from a known good display and defining inspection steps using a macro-like sequence. Inspection tasks and images are stored and recalled with unique user-specifiable names, allowing operators to switch between display types easily. Due to the inherently random crystalline structure of LCDs, it is difficult to pinpoint the location of a failure. LCI-Professional boasts a "direct measurement technique for reporting the exact location of a failure; this is something our competition can't claim - they typically provide a percentage match, not the exact location of a defect! Our system's defect location reporting and repeatability leads to greater accuracy and quality control. The Graphical User Interface supports English and Japanese, and can easily be translated into other languages. The Flexibility You
Require The LCI-Professional can be configured to meet your unique quality control demands and discriminating budget. We offer three basic systems: full, partial, and software-only solutions. Your specific production environment, QC requirements, and products will aid in deciding which configuration is best for you. In addition, you specify a monochrome, high-resolution monochrome, or RGB color camera configuration. The color system can be used to inspect color Liquid Crystal Displays or to determine if the correct keypad and backlight have been installed on cellular phones. Our recently added (patented) color tools* can discriminate between similar color shades. LCI-Professional is hardware independent. The system is based on standard PC technology, so spare parts and upgrades are readily available. This allows Integral Vision to quickly add support for specific hardware as new technology becomes available. *Color Meter Patent Number: 5,751,450. Real World Solutions Integral Vision prides itself on staying apprised of industry trends and continuously finding ways to improve our products to make your job easier. Integral Vision's market experience has led to the addition of industry specific features to help QC Engineers address the growing number of quality control issues in production. LCI-Professional includes common Setup Wizards, Image Databases, Networking Capabilities, Cross-Calibration and Remote Model Load & Save features. LCI-Professional works with the lower level backlights that are quickly becoming the industry standard. An optional frame integration feature obtains images from displays with low level backlighting where a normal grabbed image would not have sufficient signal-to-noise ratio. LCI-Professional offers adaptability for facilities using multiple vendors for their components. The system can be configured to sense part differences and switch test models/parameters, guaranteeing repeatable, robust detection of faults regardless of component vendor. Information Management LCI-Professional offers state-of-the-art communication and networking featueres based on the power of the Windows NT operating system. Communication - LCI-Professional is flexible in communicating with your existing PCS equipment. The Named-Pipe interconnection utilizes the multi-tasking features of Windows NT to run on the same computer, saving space and money. WinSockets allows your PCS software to run on any networked computer, via an Ethernet card. Serial and digital communication options are available. Data Logging - A wide range of inspection statistics are made available for export to data trending packages. Failed product images are saved in a database allowing further analysis of failures and assisting in setting QC parameters. This information can also be used to classify failures according to defect type, yielding useful production feedback for process control purposes. Networking - The optional networking and cross-calibration features guarantee that all test cells use the exact same parameters. New test scripts can be added, modified and broadcast to all test cells over a network. What Types of Defects Does LCI-Pro Detect? Functional Defects:
