Boston, MA (April 4, 2000) Integral Vision along with Foresight Imaging and ImageNation will showcase demos featuring two new Smart Tools as well as an enhanced Feature Find Tool from the Common Vision Blox 7.0 package.

The Barcode Tool ActiveX control can read over 20 commonly used one- and two-dimensional barcode symbologies. This tool is user friendly and does not require any training. Barcodes can be read at any position in the image, at any angle of rotation, and at any size or scale. The Tool can also read barcodes that are carved or optically distorted, mirrored, and printed black on white or white on black.

The Minos Tool ActiveX control allows the training and recognition of objects of all types and powerful OCR features. Neural net technology gives the tool high processing speeds (less than 1 ms per character) and high recognition reliability even in poor quality images. Objects can be automatically learned at different angles of rotation and at different sizes.

The Feature Find tool has been enhanced with rotation invariance. In addition to finding and reporting the position and quality of a previously trained feature, the angle of the feature is also returned to the nearest degree. Search speed can be optimized by disabling the rotation invariance or by configuring the tool to search over a specified range of rotation.

The Vision Tool Integration Kit has been extended to incorporate C algorithms. The kit enables users to extend the software capabilities of Common Vision Blox by quickly developing or incorporating their own vision tools.
